Milk is believed to be one of the best conductors of positive energies, is poured on to the lingam, the flow of energies begins to concentrate towards the lingam, and the devotee becomes the receiver of the outflow for his closest proximity to the lingam.

Dudh Abhishek or Abhishek with Cow’s milk is a form of worshiping Lord Shiva in his Rudra avatar, in which a Shivalinga is bathed with Milk in a thin stream from a Brass vessel called ‘Shringi’, which is constantly poured over the deity, along with chanting of Vedic mantra called the Rudra Sukta.
