About Yog Dhyan Badri Temple
Yog Dhyan Badri Mandir is a Hindu temple located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is one of the Panch Badri temples. The temple is believed to have been established by the Pandavas and renovated by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. The temple is situated at an altitude of about 1,920 meters above sea level and can be reached by a challenging trek of about 12 km from Pandukeshwar. The temple has a small sanctum where the idol of Lord Vishnu in a meditative posture is worshipped. The idol is made of black stone and is about 3 feet tall. The temple is surrounded by the beautiful Himalayan mountains.
